Today I want to share with you 5 tips to improve your periods🩸

1️⃣ Increase Hydration

Did you know that by staying hydrated you can reduce inflammation?  If you are dehydrate it can cause cortisol levels to raise which promotes inflammation and can leave you feeling bloated and puffy.  A good rule of thumb is drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces, daily, but try drinking a little bit more around your period.  If you need help staying hydrated, my favorite electrolytes are by Just Ingredients.  You can use this link to save 10%.

2️⃣ Prioritize Rest

During our menstrual cycle, our hormones are our lowest…and well, so are you!  It’s imperative that you prioritize rest and aim for 7-9 hours of QUALITY sleep.  If you need help turning off that brain, my CortiZen supplement does wonders.

3️⃣ Practice Relaxation Techniques

Do you experience increased anxiety around your period?  This could be a sign of hormone imbalance, but it’s helpful to manage anxiety by doing some deep breathing, nasal breathing or even meditation.

4️⃣ Remove Sugar & Alcohol

Both of these are very inflammatory and if you already suffer from cramps or heavy periods, we want to stay as low-inflammatory as possible!  With alcohol, we definitely don’t want to give the liver anymore work when it’s trying to metabolize your hormones!

5️⃣ Give Yourself Grace

Sometimes being a woman isn’t fun, so give yourself grace.  Also know that having a period that disrupts your life is also not normal.  Just because it may be normal for you, does not mean that it’s normal.  Your period should come and go.  If you don’t feel like doing anything around your period, then give yourself grace and just rest.  Your body (and hormones!) will thank you!

I hope this was helpful for you and that by implementing these tips, your period will improve!

Which will you implement first?
